The Port Lixus Plan Azur resort is located on the northern Atlantic coast of Morocco, approximately 80 kilometres south of Tangier and adjacent to the city of Larache. The 470 hectare resort area is located near the Lixus archaeological site, the Phoenician city in which the resort has been named.
Port Lixus includes over six kilometres of beach frontage and features a sloping plateau-headland providing breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean and the golden sandy private beaches. The climate at Port Lixus is “Mediterranean” with fabulous sunny days in the spring and summer months, with winter months boasting a modest temperature of around 20°.
The nearest international airport to Port Lixus is Tangier, which is a 45 minute drive away. Currently there are direct flights into Tangier with BA and Royal Air Maroc. Both Ryanair and EasyJet are expected to add UK and European routes into Tangier coinciding with the opening of the Plan Azure resort. The resort is accessed from a new highway which extends from Tangier right down to Casablanca.
Designed with wellness, health and nature, Port Lixus will include two 18-hole golf courses designed by Enrique Saenger as well as a pleasure port along the Loukas River and a larger marina with over 700 mooring.
